A city sponsored YMCA is conveniently located within Woodhaven. The 45,000-square foot facility opened in 1998 and provides a variety of recreational opportunities including swimming, basketball, volleyball, rollerblading, and areas for aerobics and cardiovascular activities. A recently added 5,200-square foot teen center provides a safe environment for teens to play games, watch movies or socialize. 

Nearby Parks

Woodhaven Park covers 6 acres and currently hosts a play structure, swings, sand lot and bicycle moguls. There is also ample green space to relax on or run on for outdoor entertainment. The park is within walking distance for all of the residents of the Woodhaven community.

Sunset Park consists of a walking paths, baseball fields, basket ball courts, an artificial turf soccer field, sand lot, playgrounds, water park for kids and space to relax, picnic, bbq or host a fun outdoor party.

Stella Olsen Memorial Park is a Sherwood community park easily accessible from Woodhaven by way of paved, lighted, walking paths and a boardwalk. The park covers nearly 24 acres and is surrounded by trees and wetlands. The park hosts a children's playground, sheltered picnic area, recreational paths, open areas and a bandstand. Stella Olsen Park hosts Music on the Green, Sherwood's fun and free summer concert series.

The Sherwood School District

Sherwood is known for it's excellent schools.  Currently comprised of three elementary schools with one on the way, one middle school with a second under construction, and one high school.   Middleton Elemetary, Sherwood Middle School and Sherwood High School are within walking distance of many Woodhaven neighborhoods.

The schools have consistently received high rankings on the State of Oregon's school report cards, and are recognized for their strong academics. The schools are an integral part of the Woodhaven and Sherwood communities, and are greatly supported by community members.
